Cinnamon lowers blood sugar and can help diabetics, experts say

 Cinnamon has the ability to lower blood sugar.   This has been reported by several sources,  and even in today's Newark Star Ledger.   The Dear Dr. Roach medical advice column in today's paper  also verified that as little as 1/4 teaspoon, twice daily reduced blood sugar about 20 %!

Such a simple thing to do for those people who are having problems with Diabetes.   However, this does not take the place of a proper diet and regular exercise, the two most important items in controlling Diabetes.  For those patients who are being careful and doing the right things this is  good to try.   As a natural substance there are  no likely side effects which is an added bonus.

I have had many patients over the years who just can't get their sugar regulated.  Often they just need more helpful advice from nutritionists or their primary doctors.  Diabetes is such a serious disease that it takes full involvement of the patient and their family to be able to succeed in controlling it.  Patients need to ask more questions and be proactive in treating and avoiding the complications of this disease.
